Quick Project - Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada ShiranaiMeiko Honma “Menma” - FlowersThat title is still a pain to type out, but I have it memorized in the back of my head. There’s a sense of nostalgia throughout the show that I just can’t ignore. The story follows the life of six childhood friends who had grown far apart over the years. One of the friends, Meiko, was the only one to have remained the same. From there on, it is a journey to reunite all the friends and get over their changes and issues that had caused them to be distant from one another. I really love the series so far. Part of the reason why is because I can relate to the main character, who had deliberately locked himself away from his friends.
The picture itself is rather simplistic, albeit rather eye-catching. I didn’t want Menma to be too much of the focus, so I did what I could to make the flowers “pop” out a story or feeling. Nevertheless, I did find this picture quite refreshing and lots of fun to work on. It kind of looks like an official card of some sort.Getting Menma to actually look like Menma was difficult. After watching the first episode for a few times over, I had figured that I’d just retained some of the most important features and make up the rest. The purple lineart was kind of defining, so I tried using that. At least the face looks like hers.
“We still don’t know the full name of the show we saw that day.”This will probably be the closing thing to a Little Busters! anime that we will get.
